ATLANTIC CITY - The Atlantic City Police Department and the City of Atlantic City posthumously honored Ryan Blatstein on Friday, November 8, 2024, as a police officer following his passing. The son of Showboat owner Bart Blatstein was a strong supporter of law enforcement throughout the country, but especially here in Atlantic City.

“He would have been so honored,” said Tower CEO and Showboat owner Bart Blatstein. “Ryan loved everything about law enforcement. He was always standing up for and beside the men and women of the ACPD and police departments across the country, that was his goal—to keep officers and those they serve safe. He consistently volunteered his time and raised money for law enforcement charities such as the Behind the Badge Foundation, which honors and aids officers who have died or suffered serious injury in the line of duty. Ryan’s support of the law was unwavering.”

That’s why it was important to Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos and Mayor Marty Small to salute the man who loved, honored and supported the life of law enforcement. The Chief said Ryan may not have had the chance to hit the streets on a beat, but his passion for the law and to help others will live on.

“Take away a lesson from Ryan,” said Chief Sarkos. “Live every day to the fullest, support your community and help make this a better world.”

The honor was presented to Mr. Blatstein during the City of Atlantic City’s staff professional development event held at Showboat.
