The Atlantic City Business Roundtable Launches with Casino Breakfast Event

ATLANTIC CITY– On Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 9 a.m., more than one hundred business owners and community members gathered at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ for the launch of the Atlantic City Business Roundtable.

According to the mission statement, the Roundtable is a spinoff of a successful model from the state of Maryland called the Bi-County Business Roundtable which was created in 2018.


The Atlantic City Roundtable will address some of the same issues as The Bi-County Business Roundtable. Both share four goals in their missions.

  • Advocacy – Fighting for fairness and access equality
  • Access To Capital – The Atlantic City Business Roundtable works with financial institutions to create capital.
  • Contracting – Leveling the playing field for members to gain access to business opportunities both in the public and private sector.
  • Small Business Training –Helping small business leaders achieve stellar performance and growth through training.

The breakfast program included greetings and information from Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small. Also speaking on behalf of the city was Kaleem Shabazz, the vice-President of Atlantic City's City Council.

Jaqueline Saurez, The DCA Commissioner spoke representing the state of New Jersey focusing on "creating new Atlantic City small business pathways."

Eric Sheffler, CRDA Executive Director, spoke about leadership in business.

Also speaking were Darryl Barnes of Maryland who serves as The Atlantic City Roundtable Managing Partner and James Whitehead who serves as The Vice-President.
