Thanksgiving Spurs Spirit of Goodwill
Thanksgiving brought out the spirit of goodwill in Atlantic City.
ATLANTIC CITY — The City of Atlantic City distributed 900 Thanksgiving boxes.
Kelsey and Kim’s Southern Café hosted a community feed event at the Soldier’s Home and a sit-down meal for the City’s first responders.
The Atlantic City Kiwanis Club partnered with Councilman Kaleem Shabazz, T MARQUISE ENTERTAINMENT, Atlantic City Focus and other organizations to provide holiday meals for veterans.
The councilman arranged for the Kiwanis Club to get the turkeys. T MARQUISE ENTERTAINMENT got the sides and Atlantic City Focus distributed the $25 gift cards to the Kiwanis Club.
"I started Got the Sides, one because I love giving back," said Williams. "The other reason, people always get turkeys for the holidays and I wanted to do something different, so I came up with Got The Sides. Families receive $25 gift cards for Shop Rite stores to get sides to go with their turkeys."
This is the 3rd year and each year Williams helps 100 families.
And Chef Andre Murphy continued his community feeding tour providing meals for seniors in Atlantic City on Thursday and Egg Harbor City on Sunday as well as other states before the holiday.
Thanksgiving brought out the spirit of generosity throughout the region.
