ATLANTIC CITY – Several Atlantic City High School students were awarded on-the-spot college acceptances at the Atlantic City Youth Services’ 2nd ‘Viking Week,’ according to a report from the city government.
The weeklong event, which also included a pep Rally, a College Band Showcase and student-career workshops took place at Atlantic City High School during the week of Monday, Oct. 20 to Friday, Oct. 27.
At Friday’s event, which concluded the weeklong enrichment festivities, some students received immediate decisions on their college applications. According to a report released to promote Viking Week, “some academic institutions will offer instant decisions and other organizations may offer internship, apprenticeship, and job opportunities.”
Other events during Viking Week included the “A Day in the Life” Professional Series, where students received insight into the typical day in the life of professionals across various career fields, and informational sessions about college life including Greek life, college sports, and the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).
