NAACP Atlantic City Branch Meeting Features New Voting Machines and Atlantic County Superintendent of Elections

ATLANTIC CITY - On Monday, September 9, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. the monthly meeting for The NAACP's Atlantic City Branch convened in room 204 of Atlantic Cape Community College (Atlantic City Campus.)


President Kaleem Shabazz invited and welcomed the entire South Jersey community. Many non NAACP members and members of the Mainland/Pleasantville branch attended.

The meeting began with a quick review of previous minutes and business.
Shabazz then went down a check list of election dates and events that are being sponsored and encouraged by the Atlantic City chapter including lawn sign distribution, a candidates forum, and The NAACP's view on Project 2025.

Shabazz set a goal of increasing turnout in Atlantic City by 10 percent in the 2024 election.

After discussing the upcoming events, Shabazz introduced Atlantic County Board of Elections, Superintendent Maureen Bugdon.


Bugdon proceeded to discuss upcoming dates for early voting, voting registration, when to use a provisional ballot, and vote by mail.

Maureen Bugdon also brought 2 voting machines for people to see. These new machines where only used in the previous primary elections

Early Voting runs from Saturday, October 26, 2024 – Sunday, November 3, 2024

The next NAACP Atlantic City Branch meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Atlantic Cape Community College in Atlantic City.
