First Annual Daddy-Daughter Sneaker Ball Brings Elegance and Joy to Atlantic City Families
The event welcomed girls in grades K-8 and their dads for an evening of bonding, celebration, and fun.

ATLANTIC CITY - Fathers and daughters here traded in their formal shoes and work boots for sneakers on Friday, April 4, 2025, and shared a night to remember during the city’s first annual Daddy-Daughter Sneaker Ball.
Held at the All Wars Memorial Building, the event welcomed girls in grades K-8 and their dads for an evening of bonding, celebration, and fun. Guests arrived in style, walking the red carpet and posing for photos as they were greeted by “paparazzi” before heading inside for dinner, dancing, and entertainment.

“This was an unforgettable experience for area dads, allowing them to not only spend quality time with their daughters but have some fun at the same time,” said Atlantic City Recreation Director Mike Griffin. “Community gatherings like this are extremely important.”
The event was organized by the Atlantic City Recreation Division with help from the Youth Services and Reentry Services divisions, as well as the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. Several local businesses and organizations also contributed by donating food and prizes.
Youth Services Director Christina Noble said organizers wanted to give fathers and their daughters the red carpet experience.
"This is something that we're doing to highlight family relationships, and father and father figure relationships," said Noble. "We want to give our fathers some time to share with their daughters because we know these relationships are important."
The event featured a lively atmosphere complete with a photo booth, raffles, and non-alcoholic mocktails. Attendees were encouraged to dress in their best semi-formal wear—paired with sneakers, of course—to keep the evening both stylish and comfortable. Many fathers coordinated matching outfits with their daughters and used their sneakers and accessories to make their wardrobe choices stand out.

While the city’s Recreation Division is primarily known for sports programming, Griffin said support from Mayor Marty Small and other departments made it possible to “think outside the box.”
“This is the kind of event that creates lifelong memories,” Griffin said.
