MAYS LANDING — On Tuesday, Nov. 7, election night, the Board of Elections received several batches of ballots that they were tasked with accepting or rejecting. The board convened at 6:44 p.m. and spent more than an hour making determinations. The first batch included 11 mail-in ballots without certifications.
The event, deemed the largest municipal gathering in the nation, will run from Tuesday, Nov. 14 through Thursday Nov. 16 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
NORTHFIELD — Atlantic County Democrats came to terms with countywide losses on election night. Even incumbent Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Sheffler was defeated.

Senator Vince Polistina, R-Atlantic, garnered 53.08% of the total votes tabulated after the polls closed at 8 p.m. with 23,733. Democrat Caren Fitzpatrick garnered 43.87 %, with 19,615 votes. Libertarian Shawn Peck garnered only 3.05% or 1,363 votes.
