Civil Rights Attorney Alexander and NAACP Discuss Polistina's Plan to Remove City Council
Civil Rights Attorney Tim Alexander discussed Sen. Vince Poistina's plan to remove and replace members of City Council in Atlantic City.
On Monday May 13, 2024, the Atlantic City Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held its monthly meeting at Atlantic Cape Community College in Atlantic City.
Besides addressing monthly business such as scholarships, volunteers and the membership drive, the body welcomed Civil Rights Attorney Tim Alexander.
NAACP President Kaleem Shabazz explained that Alexander was invited to discuss the constitutionality of Senator Vincent Polistina's plan to remove the Atlantic City city council.
Over the course of an hour, Alexander explained why he believes the Polistina plan is unconstitutional and the letter sent to Shabazz was "disrespectful." He added that the plan should not advance further. Alexander also answered questions. Alexander and Shabazz both discussed the ways in which NAACP members can fight back.
Thank you for watching parts 1 and 2 of this important interview. Parts 3 and 4 will be posted on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
