Atlantic City Unveils Exciting Events and Revives Beloved Traditions for August

ATLANTIC CITY– As summer draws to a close, the City of Atlantic City is thrilled to announce a lineup of events to keep the season's excitement alive throughout August. Organized by various departments under the Executive Office of Mayor Marty Small, Sr., these events promise something for everyone.

Senior Appreciation Day

On August 19, 2024, Atlantic City’s Senior Services division will host the second Senior Appreciation Day of the summer. All residents aged 55 and older are invited to enjoy a complimentary day of pampering, including manicures, pedicures, haircuts, and chair massages. The event will take place at the PAL Building from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To secure an appointment, please call 609-347-5458.

Adult Kickball League

Building on the success of the Adult Flag Football and Softball leagues, the Atlantic City Recreation division is introducing an Adult Kickball League for residents aged 21 and older. The league will take place on Wednesday nights at the Chelsea Heights Recreation Complex and will "kick off" on August 21, 2024. Teams should consist of 11-13 players, and registration is now open.

ACPD Community Barbecues

The Atlantic City Police Department continues its tradition of hosting free community barbecues across the city. These events offer residents an opportunity to connect with local officers while enjoying complimentary hotdogs and hamburgers. The remaining barbecues will be held in Ward 5 (Pete Pallitto Field) on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, and in Ward 3 (Brown’s Park) on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
