Atlantic City Business Roundtable Breakfast Kicks Off Day of Gubernatorial Candidate Appearances

ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic City Business Roundtable Breakfast will kick off a day filled with gubernatorial candidate meet-and-greet events.

Candidate Jack Ciattarelli will attend the breakfast on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Resorts Casino Hotel. Candidate Ras Baraka will hold a meet-and-greet sponsored by the Atlantic City Business Roundtable from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Back Bay Ale House. Later, he will attend a private coffee klatch.

Atlantic City Business Roundtable co-founder Jimmy Whitehead said he is interested in hearing what each candidate has planned.

“Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli will join us to share his plans for the great state of New Jersey and for Atlantic City,” said Whitehead.

Maryland Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Emeritus Darryl Barnes, who is a partner with Evans Barnes Associates and president of the Bi-County Business Roundtable in Maryland, echoed Whitehead’s sentiment. The Atlantic City Business Roundtable is modeled after Maryland’s highly successful Bi-County Business Roundtable.

“We’re interested in hearing the New Jersey gubernatorial candidates' plans to help improve the quality of life for Atlantic City families, as well as their strategies to return power back to the people of Atlantic City,” Barnes said.

In addition to providing Ciattarelli a platform, Atlantic City Assistant Director of Planning and Development Clint Walden will discuss ways for small businesses to collaborate more effectively. The Rev. R. Fulton Hargrove II will discuss how his Grace Nonprofit Community Development Corporation will partner with the U.S. Humanitarian Aid Response Team Cares and the Atlantic City Business Roundtable to develop affordable workforce housing.

The inaugural “Patriot Award of Appreciation” will be presented to Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos and JCT Solutions Vice President George Sode.

Whitehead said his goal is to unite people and entities dedicated to improving Atlantic City.

“I’m extremely focused on uniting state, county, and local municipalities to make Atlantic City the greatest oceanfront city in America,” Whitehead said. “The Atlantic City Business Roundtable will bring together individuals committed to Atlantic City’s unity, creating new pathways toward a brighter future, including safe and clean streets, a quality grocery store, an innovative cybersecurity workforce training academy, and smart workforce and affordable housing.”
