Building Bridges: ACX1 Studios and the Legacy of Makhadzi’s Mother
The long range plan includes developing a cross-continent partnership that benefits youth with help from Queen Mother Vho Makhadzi Makhadzi of South Africa.
ATLANTIC CITY — ACX1 Studios Chief Operating Officer Dom Franklin and his team want to change the way people think about the resort.
The Legacy of Makhadzi's Mother
A new ownership group recently bought the former The Pier at Caesars/The Playground Mall to create a unique concept that includes a mix of retail, restaurants, entertainment, and educational space. The plan is to use the former mall for movie and television projects in addition to offering programming that benefits the community.
The long-range plans include developing a partnership with youth in South Africa.
A Conversation with Queen Mother Vho Makhadzi Makhadzi
Franklin, Robert Schwartz, chief marketing officer, and Mark Tyler of Atlantic City Focus sat down with Queen Mother Vho Makhadzi's Mother, the most streamed artist in South Africa, to discuss upcoming projects that will create a cross-continent connection, bringing a global perspective to Atlantic City.
ACX1 Studios is holding Distro Fest 2, South Jersey’s Coolest Music Festival, from Saturday, Dec. 2, to Sunday, Dec. 3. The festival will bring artists together with industry representatives that hopefully result in fruitful connections for everyone. There will also be a 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop Concert, celebrating the rich history of music and honoring figures like Makhadzi's mother and her impact on the genre.
