ACHS Graduates 386 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall
Friends, family and community supporters filled Boardwalk Hall to see the graduates close one chapter of their lives and celebrate what comes next.
ATLANTIC CITY – Atlantic City High School held its graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Friends, family and community supporters filled Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall at 1:30 p.m. to see 386 graduates close one chapter of their lives and celebrate what comes next. Valedictorian Nusrat Uddin encouraged her classmates to savor the moment.
"As for you graduates, I'm asking each and every one of you for one favor. Let's take a step back and take it all in," said Uddin. "After today, we will never have to sit through an AP exam; we will never have to run to random classes when a hall sweep is announced; we will never be a high schooler again. Now, by no means am I suggesting that we shouldn't have dreams, goals, and aspirations, but remember, the present moment is the only time you're truly living."
Salutatorian Ellie Carrasco focused on developing relationships.
"We go into the world hoping for tangible success like academic achievements and financial gain and, don't get me wrong, this is vital to our future success, but what's most important is to value and nurture the relationships we have with people who surround us," said Carrasco. "Because you can't make a positive impact on the world if you can't make a positive impact on the people around you first."
