5 Questions with KIA The PRODUCER...Co-Host of Poetry Plus...Another Jewel In The History Of Atlantic City Spoken Word Venues!

ATLANTIC CITY — Kia The Producer and Thadd Gaskins both know a lot about performing arts.

Kia, a producer of a series of live theatrical plays that have been written, directed and casted by herself. Thadd, an actor going as far back as plays by the late Kevin Cheatham.

Thadd is also a successful music producer and has also taken the stage as an MC/rapper.

Thadd was also part of the successful series, The Flow Session, which welcomed performance art to live stages in the early 2000's.

Today Kia and Thadd Gaskins have curated a season of open mic events taking place at Platters Soul Food Restaurant located at 18 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, in Atlantic City.

The final remaining dates are April 27, 2025, May 25, 2025, June 8, 2025, and June 22, 2025. No additional events have been announced at this time.

Art Beats/Atlantic City Focus caught up with Kia The Producer and she agreed to discuss Poetry Plus and play 5 Questions with arts and entertainment editor Raymond Tyler.
